David Senfuka the proprietor of Leona-NNN-Medical Research and Diagnostics center that produces herbal drugs that government recently said has the potential to treat cancer and diabetes after the National Chemotherapeutics Research Institute (NCRI) duly conducted preclinical analysis on the firm’s herbal products has applauded journalists for doing noble work in the world.

Senfuka applauded journalists during a press discourse held at Uganda Journalists Association (UJA) headquarters in Kawempe, Kampala.

During the press conference, Senfuka pledged to support the World press Freedom day activities in particular the Media dinner which is to be hold on 3rd may, renovation of the Association headquarters, donating other equipment among others in appreciation of their noble work.

"I appreciate the role played by the fourth estate and I call upon them to always fight for our herbal medicine since they are the mouthpiece of each and everybody" he added.

Senfuka has also urged government to support herbalists by enacting and implementing tough laws regulating herbalists as a measure to improve and standardize their work in the country.

Ssenfuka said many people disguise as herbalists due to financial reasons without any knowledge thus puts their work at stake.

David Ssenfuka says he commenced with his research in 2013, individually and other colleagues to get a herbal medicine that heals the two disease but he still lacks the facilities to enable him develop his medicine to the world standard so it can be put on the world market.

"Many people have ignored herbal medicines due to ignorance leading to loss of our lives and what I think is to advocate for it because the whites use our medicine into a modern way to treat us at high expenses". He added.

Ssenfuka also reminded President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni about UGX30b which he promised to give him to develop his herbal medicines saying time is ripe and danger is in delay.

"I thank Mr. President for the pledge of Ugx30b to develop my medicine although it has not yet been released, but I kindly request that it is expeditiously work upon since our people are dying of cancer and diabetes yet we can treat them". He said.
