Speaker Oulanyah’ death: FDC suspends its activities in Northern Uganda

Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party has announced the suspension of its activities in Northern Uganda as sign of mourning for the fallen Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulayah.


Patrick Oboi Amuriat the party president while addressing journalists at the party headquarters Najjanankumbi Kampala said the country has lost a leader who can't easily be replaced thus he will be missed.


Amuriat added that the party is going to participate fully in each and every activity of sending off the speaker to show solidarity and its after the burial that a later date will be communicated to resume with their activities.


He expressed his condolences message to the family, Country, NRM party and parliament of Uganda over the loss of their friend, Father and a great leader.



 President museveni on sunday announced oulanyah’s death on twitter saying he was a good cadre. 
The now deceased omoro county mp (omoro district) was elected speaker on may 24, 2021, after defeating ms kadaga. He served as deputy speaker of parliament from may 2011 until may 2021.

He has also been the vice president north in the ruling national resistance movement (nrm)
