Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are gearing up for another Premier League title push after finishing as runners-up for the third consecutive season. Despite their consistent performances, the Gunners have yet to secure the ultimate prize, leaving fans eager for a breakthrough. As the club prepares for the upcoming campaign, supporters have voiced their opinions on the current squad through a ‘keep or sell’ fan vote.
The results revealed overwhelming support for key players like Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice, both of whom received a staggering 96% of votes to remain at the Emirates. Other fan favorites included William Saliba, Gabriel, Martin Odegaard, and emerging talent Myles Lewis-Skelly, all of whom garnered over 90% approval.
However, not all players enjoyed such resounding backing. Former Manchester City stars Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko, who joined Arsenal in 2022, faced significant opposition. Jesus secured just 35% of votes to stay, while Zinchenko received a mere 17%. The duo, once credited with transforming Arsenal into title contenders, have struggled with form and fitness in recent seasons, leading to diminished roles in the squad.
Other players on the chopping block included Reiss Nelson, Albert Sambi Lokonga, and Fabio Vieira, all of whom received less than 30% support to remain. These players spent time on loan last season, and their futures at the club appear uncertain.
Arsenal have already made moves in the transfer market this summer, signing Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, and Christian Norgaard, with more additions expected. As Arteta aims to finally break the club’s title drought, the fan vote highlights both the loyalty to key players and the desire for change among underperformers.
With the Premier League season on the horizon, Arsenal’s faithful will be hoping their voices are heard as the club strives to turn their perennial second-place finishes into long-awaited silverware.
