The Bears and Blaze have secured their spots in the Women's T20 Blast Finals Day after impressive performances in their respective matches. Meanwhile, Surrey and Durham claimed crucial wins to keep their hopes alive in the competition.
Davina Perrin was the standout performer for the Bears, scoring a brilliant 70 off 48 balls to help her team post 165-9 against Hampshire. Despite a valiant effort from Ellyse Perry, who scored 58 for the Hawks, Hampshire fell short by 16 runs, finishing at 149-6. "We came in as underdogs," said Perrin. "With such a young squad, reaching Finals Day is a testament to our coaches and team."
The Blaze also booked their place in the Finals Day with a 35-run victory over Essex. Captain Kirstie Gordon led the charge, taking 4-23 as Essex collapsed from 77-3 to 86-9, eventually finishing at 104-9. The Blaze had earlier posted 139, with Heather Graham top-scoring with 33.
Surrey continued their strong form with a dominant 68-run win over Somerset. Alice Monaghan starred with an unbeaten 57 off 32 balls, supported by Emma Jones' 34, as Surrey set a challenging target of 175-6. Somerset struggled in their chase, falling to 107 all out, with Dani Gregory taking 4-13.
Durham kept their knockout hopes alive with a thrilling two-wicket win over Lancashire. Despite Emma Lamb's 74 for Lancashire, Durham chased down their target of 149 with four balls to spare, thanks to Bess Heath's quickfire 43 off 23 balls.
The Finals Day, set for 27 July at The Oval, will feature the second and third-placed teams battling for the chance to face the group winners for the title.
