Harry Maguire Receives Suspended Sentence After Mykonos Incident
Manchester United and England defender, Harry Maguire, has been given a 15-month suspended sentence by a Greek court for an incident that occurred in Mykonos in August 2020.
Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko has arrived in Manchester for a medical with Manchester United, marking a critical step in a £74 million transfer from RB Leipzig. The deal, secured after a tense battle with Newcastle, could see the 22-year-old unveiled ahead of the Red Devils’ pre-season friendly against Fiorentina.
Slovenian forward Benjamin Sesko has landed in Manchester ahead of his medical examination with Manchester United, bringing his highly anticipated move to the Premier League giants closer to reality. The 22-year-old, who has been a key figure for RB Leipzig, is on the brink of finalizing a £74 million deal, which includes an initial £66.5 million plus £7.3 million in potential add-ons.
Sesko arrived at Manchester Airport on a private jet and was quickly escorted to a black Mercedes van, maintaining a low profile as he made his way to United’s Carrington training ground. The medical is expected to take place on Friday, with the possibility of his official unveiling during the Red Devils’ pre-season clash against Fiorentina at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The transfer has ended weeks of speculation, with United outpacing rivals Newcastle United, who had previously offered £71 million for the striker. Despite interest from Arsenal earlier in the summer, the Gunners shifted focus to Viktor Gyokeres, allowing United to secure Sesko’s signature. The Slovenian, who joined Leipzig from RB Salzburg in 2023 for £20 million, has been a standout performer, netting 27 goals and providing 7 assists in 64 appearances, including four in the UEFA Champions League last season.
Reports indicate Sesko prioritized a move to Old Trafford over Newcastle, drawn by the club’s ambitions and the “Theatre of Dreams” moniker. The agreement concludes a protracted saga over his future, with Leipzig granting permission for the transfer after months of negotiations.
