Harry Maguire Receives Suspended Sentence After Mykonos Incident
Manchester United and England defender, Harry Maguire, has been given a 15-month suspended sentence by a Greek court for an incident that occurred in Mykonos in August 2020.
Manchester United are reportedly close to securing a deal for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, who is set to earn around £180,000-per-week once the transfer is finalized.
Manchester United are on the brink of signing Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, according to reports. The Red Devils are expected to complete the deal by the end of next week, despite Brentford's decision to reject a second bid of £62.5million on Friday.
The Sun reports that the deal will be approved after Tuesday, as United enter a new financial year when Profit and Sustainability Rules reset on June 30. This will allow Mbeumo's fee to be included in the club's accounts at the end of the season.
Mbeumo is set to sign a five-year contract, worth an expected £180,000-per-week. This works out to around £46.8million, making his total transfer outlay well over £110million, should a new, larger fee be agreed with Brentford.
Mbeumo, who has been linked with a move away from Brentford for some time, has informed both Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur that he wishes to join United in the coming days. The attacker has been in fine form for Brentford this season, netting 20 goals in the League and ranking first in a number of key statistics.
United haven't set a date for Mbeumo's medical yet, but the Cameroonian international is eager to join the Red Devils. The 23-year-old has scored six goals in 22 caps for Cameroon and is expected to add some much-needed goal-scoring prowess to the United attack.
With the addition of Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, United's attacking numbers are expected to improve significantly next season. The duo could form a formidable partnership under manager Erik ten Hag.
