Portuguese football legend, Cristiano Ronaldo, is on the brink of finalizing a new contract with Al Nassr to prolong his tenure at the Saudi Arabian club.
Portuguese football icon, Cristiano Ronaldo, is reportedly close to sealing a new contract with Al Nassr to extend his stay in the Saudi Arabian club. The 40-year-old forward has found a sense of belonging in Saudi Arabia since his move to Al Nassr in January 2023, and he hopes to continue his journey there.
Currently out of contract at the end of this month, the Portugal captain aims to prolong his stay to maintain his fitness level ahead of the World Cup next summer, where he will be 41. The former Manchester United forward believes that the improving standard of football in the Saudi Pro League will provide him with the perfect platform to achieve his goal.
Ronaldo had earlier turned down offers to participate in the Club World Cup and hinted on social media last month that he might be leaving Al Nassr. However, it appears that he has reconsidered his decision and is now keen on staying with the club.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has set a personal goal of scoring 1,000 career goals before contemplating retirement, and with 938 goals already under his belt, he is well on his way.
