Nitin Kumar etched his name in sporting history on Sunday, becoming the first Indian competitor to claim a victory at the PDC World Darts Championship. The 40-year-old, nicknamed "The Royal Bengal," secured a dramatic 3-2 win against Dutch rival Richard Veenstra at London's Alexandra Palace.

Kumar, who had previously lost four consecutive first-round matches at the event, showcased clinical precision with a 75% checkout success rate. Despite Veenstra's higher-scoring performance—including a spectacular 144 finish—Kumar's consistency under pressure sealed his place in the last 64.
