After a turbulent period, French footballer Paul Pogba has found a new home with Monaco, signing a two-year contract following the termination of his doping ban. The 32-year-old midfielder, previously of Manchester United and Juventus, will be making his Ligue 1 debut with the French club.

Pogba's suspension came after a random doping test following Juventus' opening game of the 2023-24 season against Udinese. The initial four-year ban was reduced to 18 months in October following an appeal. He officially parted ways with Juventus in November, paving the way for his return to competitive football as a free agent since March.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) confirmed that Pogba inadvertently took dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), a substance prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). However, the ruling stressed that DHEA only has an effect on females.

Pogba began his career at Manchester United before moving to Juventus, where he won the Serie A in each of his first four seasons, including two Doubles. He returned to Old Trafford in 2016 for a world-record £89m, and in his first season, he won the Europa League and FA Cup. Pogba, who has 91 caps for France, played a crucial role in helping Les Bleus win the 2018 World Cup, scoring in the final as they defeated Croatia 4-2 in Russia.

Unfortunately, Pogba's final three seasons at Manchester United were marred by injuries and a lack of form, and he failed to regain his previous form on his return to Juventus as a free agent.

As Pogba embarks on this new chapter of his career with Monaco, football enthusiasts worldwide will be eagerly anticipating his comeback to the game he loves. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development in European football.
