Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces of the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF), has completed his official visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) after a series of productive engagements with key military and political leaders in the country.

During his visit, Gen. Kainerugaba held crucial discussions with notable figures such as President Félix Tshisekedi, focusing on matters of mutual interest and cooperation. He also met with senior officials of the Armed Forces of the DRC (FARDC), led by Lieutenant General Jules Banza Mwilambwe, to assess joint military operations, particularly Operation Shujaa.

Highlighting the commitment to combat terrorism and enhance border security, the two Generals signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation between their respective forces.

President Tshisekedi welcomed Gen. Kainerugaba at the Palais de la Nation (State House) for discussions centering on broader issues concerning bilateral relations between Uganda and DRC.

Prior to his departure, Lt Gen Mwilambwe hosted a special dinner in honor of Gen. Kainerugaba's visit, attended by senior FARDC commanders and Congolese government officials.
