Uganda's sporting landscape witnessed a historic moment as the Entebbe Club revealed its meticulously restored clubhouse during an elegant commissioning ceremony. The 1913-built structure - East Africa's oldest golf facility - now blends colonial-era charm with contemporary luxury following an extensive transformation.

Preserving Legacy, Embracing Modernity

The renovation project, spearheaded by Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) and MTN Uganda, introduces premium amenities including an exclusive Johnnie Walker Lounge while maintaining the building's original architectural character. Historic artifacts like the 1913 membership register now adorn the club's new "Wall of Progress."

"Our partnership with Entebbe Club reflects shared values of excellence and elevating Ugandan golf," stated Josephine Njoroge, UBL Finance and Strategy Director, during her keynote address.

Celebrating Collaborative Success

Attorney General Kiryowa Kiwanuka praised the corporate partners' contributions, humorously noting: "If members start lingering here longer, UBL and MTN should consider it praise for their excellent work."

Club Chairman Eng. Jacob Byamukama emphasized the renovation's significance: "We've given this iconic building new life while honoring its heritage. Few spaces achieve this perfect balance of history and modernity."

A Night of Remembrance and Revelry

The gala event attracted golfing luminaries and featured live performances by saxophonist Bahati, concluding a celebration that honored Uganda's golfing past while toasting to its future.

This revitalization marks UBL's latest contribution to Ugandan golf, continuing a partnership with Entebbe Club that began in 2017 and demonstrating corporate commitment to sporting heritage development.
