A journalist in the area at the time described the munition as being launched from a warplane, suggesting a deliberate and forceful strike.

Among the victims was 27-year-old Hisham Ayman Mansour, whose father had been a prominent figure in Hamas’ military wing. His brother, previously killed by Israeli forces, was reportedly involved in the October 7, 2023, attacks. A local Hamas source indicated that Hisham was the intended target of the strike.
