A surprising opportunity may present itself for Manchester United's Marcus Rashford, as Turkish giants Fenerbahce are reportedly considering a move for the 27-year-old forward. The player is available for purchase this summer for approximately £40 million.

According to reports, Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho is actively working towards securing Rashford's services. The pair previously collaborated at Manchester United for over two-and-a-half years.

Rashford has expressed his interest in a move to Barcelona, while Bayern Munich and Juventus have also shown interest in his current situation. However, Barcelona has yet to show concrete interest, even since missing out on their primary target, Nico Williams.

Fenerbahce is said to be willing to meet the asking price, but convincing Rashford to join the club could prove to be a significant challenge.

Rashford has been training independently at Carrington for the past week, having been informed that he is not part of the first team setup. Meanwhile, United has confirmed the appointment of former midfielder Darren Fletcher as the new lead coach of the Under 18s.

Fletcher, a 41-year-old ex-Scotland international, has been working at Old Trafford for four years and most recently served as a technical director. He is eager to pursue a coaching career and views taking charge of the youth team as a valuable stepping stone.

Manchester United have made only one senior signing so far this summer, acquiring Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5 million. They are also hoping to secure Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, though the Bees have so far rejected two offers for their star player.

Other potential acquisitions for United include Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor, following Andre Onana's six-week hamstring injury, and Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.
