Media personality Kakooza George William Musisi, a well-known journalist at CBS FM, has officially thrown his hat into the ring for the mayoral race in Katabi Town Council. The Entebbe-based radio reporter is seeking to unseat the current Mayor Kalema Ronald, who is running for a third consecutive term.
Running under the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket, Kakooza joins a competitive field of candidates vying for the mayoral position. Among his opponents are Mugerwa Ssali and Kalema Charles, who are also eyeing the post.
A total of nine candidates have shown interest in the mayoral seat, including Nsubuga Paul from the Democratic Party (DP), Lugoloobi Innocent from the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Kajura Frank (NRM), Kiwanuka Godfrey from the People’s Progressive Party (PPP), and independent candidate Mawanda Derrick.
Voters in Katabi Town Council are eagerly anticipating the party primaries, which will determine the official flag bearers for each political party leading up to the general elections.
