Manchester City have announced that teenage talent Divine Tayon Mahogany Mukasa will remain at the Etihad Stadium through 2030. The 18‑year‑old, who joined the club in 2023, has progressed rapidly from the U‑18s to the Elite Development Squad and earned a place in Pep Guardiola’s first‑team squad.
Since his senior debut in September 2025, Mukasa has accumulated six appearances for City’s first team. A loan to Leicester City earlier this season added 15 Championship matches, where he netted two goals and supplied three assists.
Key developments
Speaking after signing the extension, Mukasa said: “I’ve learned so much since arriving at the Club from players and staff alike. The experiences have improved me as a player and a person. First‑team football at City has only heightened my ambition to compete at the highest level.”
Club director of football Hugo Viana praised the player’s work ethic, humility and eagerness to learn. “Since joining City in 2023, he has consistently improved. His loan at Leicester showed positive development and we’re excited to see his growth in the coming seasons.”
What happens next
Mukasa’s first season at City also saw him play a key role in the club’s 2023/24 FA Youth Cup triumph, followed by an impressive return to the U‑18 Premier League with 16 goals and 15 assists in 20 matches.
Born in the United Kingdom to a Ugandan father and Lithuanian mother, Mukasa is eligible to represent Uganda, England or Lithuania at the senior international level.
