Manchester United Nears Deal to Offload Jadon Sancho to Juventus

Manchester United is on the verge of completing a deal to send Jadon Sancho to Juventus, though the English winger's hefty wage demands remain a sticking point. According to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Juventus is eager to secure Sancho permanently but is reluctant to match his annual salary of approximately €10 million.

The two clubs have reportedly reached an agreement that could see Sancho move to Turin either through a direct sale or as part of a swap deal. Juventus is exploring the possibility of including Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz in the exchange, who has struggled to find his footing since joining from Aston Villa in 2024.

Sancho, who is currently earning £300,000 per week at Manchester United, is seeking a salary of around £6.9 million (€8 million) per year. Juventus, however, is offering between £5.1 million and £6 million (€6-7 million) net, deeming his demands unsustainable. Despite the financial hurdles, there is optimism that a compromise will be reached, with Sancho reportedly "enthusiastic" about joining the Serie A giants.

The 25-year-old spent the previous season on loan at Chelsea, but his wage expectations derailed a potential £25 million permanent transfer to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea instead paid a £5 million penalty fee to send him back to Old Trafford, where he has no future under manager Ruben Amorim.

Sancho joined Manchester United in 2021 from Borussia Dortmund for £73 million after a standout spell in the Bundesliga. However, he has failed to replicate his form in the Premier League, and a move abroad could provide him with a fresh start. Last season, he made 31 appearances, scoring three goals and providing four assists.

Manchester United is preparing for a squad overhaul, with Sancho among several players expected to depart. Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia are also reportedly exploring potential exits as the club looks to reshape its roster.

As negotiations continue, all parties remain hopeful that a deal will be finalized soon, allowing Sancho to embark on a new chapter in his career.
