Manchester United's persistence in acquiring the services of Bryan Mbeumo has been met with another rejection from Brentford. The Red Devils have escalated their offer to £62.5m, which mirrors the amount they paid for Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Initially, United had a £55m bid rejected, and despite the current rejection, talks between the two clubs are still ongoing, with Mbeumo expressing a desire to join the Old Trafford club.
According to Sky Sports News, Tottenham Hotspur also held initial talks with Brentford for Mbeumo back in June. However, a source close to the Cameroon international is reportedly leaning towards United.
Mbeumo is a player that United have admired for quite some time, and he is seen as a good fit for Ruben Amorim's system. Brentford, on the other hand, believe that Mbeumo has earned the chance to move to a bigger club this summer, provided they meet his valuation.

Mbeumo had an exceptional season with Brentford, scoring 20 goals in the Premier League and providing 7 assists. His expected assists for the season were 9.26, making him one of the most creative players in the league. He also covered more distance and attempted more sprints than most players, demonstrating his work ethic. His top speed was 36.63 km/h, fourth-fastest in the league, and only Mohamed Salah accumulated more form points last season, according to the Sky Sports Power Rankings.
Factoring in decisive goals or assists, Mbeumo's 27 goal contributions earned Brentford 22 points, equating to 40% of their total season tally
