NEW DELHI | Xinhua | In a significant development regarding the tragic crash of Air India flight 171, both black boxes have been located, as confirmed by P.K. Mishra, the principal secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This announcement was made late Sunday.
Reports from the Hindustan Times revealed that the second black box retrieved was the cockpit voice recorder (CVR), while the first found was the flight data recorder (FDR). Federal Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu stated that the FDR was discovered on June 13, and he anticipates that the official crash investigation report will be available within three months.
As noted by The Hindu, the process of downloading and analyzing the information from the black boxes is expected to take approximately four to five days. Additionally, multiple international investigation agencies have arrived in Ahmedabad to assist India's Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) in the inquiry, following the tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of 274 individuals.
