Ronald Ssekiganda, the talented Ugandan midfielder, has finalized his transfer to Rwandan football giants APR FC. The deal, which had been in the works for over six months, was officially announced by the club on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

Ssekiganda, who captained SC Villa during the previous season, departed the Ugandan national team camp as they prepared for the TotalEnergies Africa Nations Championship (CHAN). His absence paved the way for Shamir Kimwero to step into his role.

APR FC welcomed their new signing with a social media post, stating, "Another Lion joins the pride! Say hello to Ronald Ssekiganda, Ugandan international, and midfield maestro. Let the roar echo louder!" The club also expressed their enthusiasm in Kinyarwanda, saying, "Twishimiye kwakira Ronald Ssekiganda mu muryango wa APR FC."

At APR, Ssekiganda will reunite with fellow Ugandans Hakim Kiwanuka and Denis Omedi, who joined the club earlier this year. He also follows in the footsteps of other Ugandan players who have donned the APR jersey, including notable names like Phillip Ssozi, Hassan Mubiru, and Alimansi Kadogo.

This move marks a new chapter in Ssekiganda’s career as he aims to make an impact in Rwanda’s premier football league.
