Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have confirmed the appointment of Belgian tactician Ivan Jacky Minnaert as their new head coach. The announcement was made on the club’s official website on Friday, July 18, 2025.
The club described Minnaert as a “massively experienced” coach, expressing confidence in his ability to lead the team to greater achievements. He will work alongside John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda and Fred Muhumuza, who were instrumental in guiding Vipers SC to a double victory in the 2024/25 season.
Minnaert brings a wealth of experience to the Kitende-based club, having recently led Fassell FC to a championship title in Liberia. His coaching career also includes stints with notable teams such as Libya’s Al-ttihad Tripoli, Union Estepona CF, AFC Leopard, and Rwanda’s Rayon Sport.
The appointment signals Vipers SC’s ambition to strengthen their position in Ugandan football and compete at higher levels under Minnaert’s leadership.
