Amika Julius, a well-known cartographer in Wakiso District, has found himself in hot water after being arrested by the Wakiso District Security Committee, headed by RDC Justine Mbabazi. The arrest comes in the wake of allegations of fraud against Julius.
Reports indicate that last month, Julius attempted an unlawful eviction of his wife and children from their family home in Kitala village, Katabi town council, within Wakiso District. The Entebbe Deputy RDC, Hakim Kiriggwa, intervened to halt the eviction and advised Julius to obtain the necessary documentation for any eviction proceedings.
Notably, a court order issued in April 2024 prohibited Julius, his representatives, or agents from interfering with the property in question. Despite this order, Julius and his associates have reportedly continued to trespass on the premises and intimidate his wife, Nanfuka.
Furthermore, the court mandated Julius to provide monthly financial support for his children, including specific amounts for utilities, food, clothing, and medical expenses. Allegations have surfaced that Julius has failed to fulfill these financial obligations, except for school fees.
Nanfuka, Julius' wife, has allegedly faced threats and physical violence from Julius, prompting her to seek refuge with the authorities. Recently, unidentified individuals reportedly burglarized Nanfuka's residence, making off with valuables, including her phone.
Julius now faces charges related to the possession of a counterfeit court order, assault, and other offenses. It is noted that Julius had previously bestowed the property in question to Nanfuka and their children in 2016 as a gesture of appreciation for her role as a devoted mother and partner.
