The Wimbledon 2025 tournament has reached the semi-final stage, with some of the greatest tennis players in the world aiming to secure their place in the men's and women's finals.
Amanda Anisimova will face Iga Swiatek in the Wimbledon final after a surprising victory over World No 1 Aryna Sabalenka. Swiatek dominated over Belinda Bencic in her semi-final match.
Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic, Jannik Sinner, Taylor Fritz, and Carlos Alcaraz are all still in the hunt for the men's title. Djokovic beat Flavio Cobolli to set up a highly anticipated match against Sinner in the semi-finals, following his straight sets victory over American Ben Shelton. The other men's semi-final sees American representative Fritz take on defending champion Alcaraz, who dismantled Brit Cam Norrie on Tuesday.
The women's final is set to take place on Saturday, with the semifinals taking place on Friday. The Centre Court will host two men's singles semis, while the ladies doubles semis will be played on Court 1, along with the men's wheelchair singles semifinals.
In the opening game on Centre Court, Carlos Alcaraz, a two-time Wimbledon champion, continues his defence of the crown in a highly anticipated semi-final against American Taylor Fritz. If Alcaraz is to secure a shot at the three-peat, he must overcome Fritz, who is aiming to become the first finalist from the USA since Andy Roddick in 2009.
Novak Djokovic, even at 38-years-old, is still battling to take his place in the Wimbledon final. The Serbian star has appeared in every Wimbledon final since 2018, missing only the 2020 final due to COVID-19 cancelling the tournament. He has won the title four times in 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022, but has been beaten by Carlos Alcaraz in the previous two finals.
Jannik Sinner comes into the clash as world No 1, but has yet to take to the Centre Court in the final of the grandest tennis tournament of them all. Sinner has already surpassed his 2024 performance, where he lost to Daniil Medvedev in the quarter-final stage on Centre Court. Medvedev himself was a shock elimination in the early stages of the tournament this year.
Sinner and Djokovic met in the Roland Garros semi-final, with the Italian winning 6-4, 7-5, 7-6. The anticipation for this one is high, can they live up to the billing?
Aryna Sabalenka was unable to book her spot in the final this year, as she was knocked out by Amanda Anisimova in the first women's semi-final. The American must once again upset the odds if she is to go one further and win the tournament. Standing in her way is world No 4, and former world No 1 for 125 weeks, Iga Swiatek. The Polish star booked her place in the final for the first time in her career against Belinda Bencic. A commanding display from Swiatek saw her win 6-2, 6-0, and it looks as though she will take some stopping in the final.
