Woman seeks divine intervention to heal from recurring sickness, dies during prayers at Pastor Ssenyonga’s church

Police in Kampala have kicked off investigations into circumstances under which an ailing woman died during prayers at Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga’s church in Kampala.

According to Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, 59 year old Rosette Najjuma, a resident of Kisoga in Mukono district collapsed dead during a service at Christian Life Church in Kiggundu zone , Makerere III Parish in Kampala on Wednesday.

He noted that whereas several tests had been done on Najjuma at Mulago, no disease had been diagnosed, promoting relatives to seek devine intervention at Pastor Ssenyonga’s church.

“Najjuma had been receiving treatment at Mulago Hospital for the past three years. Despite undergoing various tests, no disease was diagnosed. As a result, she was brought to the church. It is reported that she passed away at approximately 4 PM during prayer services,” Owoyesiyire said.

He noted that the body has been taken to the city mortuary in Mulago for further investigation to determine the cause of death.
