Zack Snyder’s Justice League was released on streaming three years ago today, and fans of the epic, four-hour director’s cut are using the occasion to praise the project and the man behind it. Though Zack Snyder was given reign of the movie, the director stepped away from the project mid-production due to significant family trauma. Joss Whedon, who directed The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron took over, recut, and re-filmed a very different version of the DCEU‘s flagship team. 4 years later, Snyder was given funds to finish his version of Justice League, which was released on HBO Max.
