Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes gets a new clip, explaining one franchise Easter egg featured in the new movie. Directed by Wes Ball, the upcoming Planet of the Apes movie stars Owen Teague as Noa, a young ape who embarks on an epic adventure and comes up against a tyrannical ape ruler. The film follows mostly ape characters, but Freya Allan plays a prominent role as Mae, aka Nova. Nova is also the name given to a character in Matt Reeves’ War for the Planet of the Apes, which is itself a reference to the original 1968 film.
