Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso heaped praise on midfielder Jude Bellingham after he scored his first goal of the season in a hard-fought Champions League win over Juventus. The 22-year-old's crucial strike came after a bright start by the Italian giants, who forced Real goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois into two early saves.
Bellingham, who has struggled with a shoulder injury this season, has started to find his footing in the team. His goal, which came from a rebound after Vinicius Jr's shot struck the post, was a vital one for Real Madrid. Alonso was full of praise for the England international, describing him as "one of the most complete players in the world".
"Jude played a really complete game, over and above the goal," Alonso said. "I really liked how he played against Getafe and even more so today, plus his goal. He's giving such good sensations with how competitive he is and how he creates dangerous situations. I'm delighted for him."
The win sees Real Madrid maintain their 100% record in the Champions League this season, with 15-time winners sitting fifth in the table. Juventus, on the other hand, are without a win in the competition so far and are 25th in the table.
Bellingham's goal was not the only highlight of the match, with Kylian Mbappe going closest to scoring for Real Madrid with a fierce attempt that tested Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio. Despite the narrow victory, Real Madrid will look to build on their momentum as they face Liverpool at Anfield on November 4.
