Palace Land Tottenham's Star Winger in Major Deal
Crystal Palace have finalized a £35 million agreement to sign Welsh international Brennan Johnson from Tottenham Hotspur, with medical tests scheduled for Friday to complete the transfer.
The 24-year-old forward, who netted 18 goals for Spurs last season, could debut for the Eagles as early as Sunday’s clash against Newcastle if clearance is granted. Johnson held crucial discussions with Palace manager Oliver Glasner and club executives on Thursday before committing to the move.
From North London to South London
Palace identified Johnson as their primary summer target, swiftly agreeing to the fee with Tottenham earlier this week. Despite his stellar campaign – which included a decisive Europa League winner against Manchester United – the winger fell out of Spurs’ long-term strategy under manager Thomas Frank.
BBC Sport previously reported Tottenham’s willingness to offload the Wales international, paving the way for Palace’s successful pursuit. Johnson’s arrival bolsters Glasner’s attacking options as the club aims to build on last season’s mid-table finish.
Selhurst Park fans will eagerly await his potential debut this weekend, hoping his prolific form translates quickly to Palace colors.
