Brentford secured a 2-0 victory over Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup second round, thanks to goals from Fabio Carvalho and Igor Thiago. The win marked the second consecutive victory for new Brentford boss Keith Andrews.
Brentford took an early lead when Carvalho netted a goal in the 34th minute. Thiago doubled the advantage with a goal in the 65th minute. Despite Bournemouth's late push, they were unable to find the back of the net.
Bournemouth finished the match with 10 players due to a red card given to Julian Araujo.
Brentford will now face the winner of the Grimsby Town vs Manchester United match in the third round of the Carabao Cup. The draw for the third round will take place on Wednesday night.
