In an impressive display, Brentford secured a 4-1 victory against Bournemouth, with Kevin Schade scoring a hat-trick to lift Keith Andrews' side into the top half of the Premier League table. The match, held at the Gtech Community Stadium, saw Brentford finish the year on a high note, amassing 26 points, their best return at this stage in five seasons.
Schade opened the scoring in the seventh minute after receiving a pinpoint pass from Igor Thiago. The German forward's low shot found the bottom-right corner, giving Brentford an early lead. The home side had several opportunities to extend their advantage but had to wait until the 39th minute for their second goal, an own goal from Bournemouth's Djordje Petrovic.
Bournemouth, who had been winless in their last nine league matches, showed more attacking intent in the second half, but Brentford's defense held firm. Schade added his second goal in the 51st minute, heading in a cross from Yehor Yarmoliuk. Bournemouth pulled one back through Antoine Semenyo's close-range finish, but Schade completed his hat-trick in the sixth minute of stoppage time, heading in a cross from Mikkel Damsgaard.
The victory takes Brentford to eighth place in the Premier League table, just three points behind sixth-placed Manchester United. For Bournemouth, the defeat extends their winless run to nine matches, dropping them to 15th place.
Brentford head coach Keith Andrews praised his team's performance, particularly highlighting Schade's contributions. "He [Schade] works tirelessly for the team," Andrews said. "He's a constant threat and I feel like, in the last couple of weeks, he's been starting to get into really good positions and getting really, really close."
Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola acknowledged his team's slow start but expressed satisfaction with their second-half performance. "We arrived 45 minutes late to a Premier League game," Iraola said. "We can lose the game, but the way we lost the second half, no problem. There is an intent to go and attack, to have chances."
The victory marks Brentford's sixth home win in nine league games this season. As they head into the New Year, the Bees will look to build on this momentum, while Bournemouth will aim to break their winless streak and climb up the table.
