In a significant move for Ugandan football, the oil manufacturers, BUL FC, have put an end to the uncertainty surrounding their head coaching position. The club announced on Monday, July 14, 2025, that Abbey Bogere has signed a new two-year contract, keeping him with the Jinja-based side until 2027.
The official statement from the club, published on their website, states, "BUL FC is thrilled to announce that head coach Bogere Abbey has renewed his contract for another two years."
Bogere took over the reins in the 2023/24 campaign, replacing interim coach Simon Massa. During his tenure, BUL emerged victorious in two consecutive FUFA Super 8 tournaments in 2023 and 2024. The team also managed a commendable second-place finish in the 2023/24 season, narrowly missing out on the title by a single point.
Following the signing, Bogere expressed his determination to achieve his dream of leading BUL FC to the Uganda Premier League title. "I am ecstatic to sign another two-year contract with BUL FC," he said. "I promise to continue giving my all to help this fantastic club fulfill my dream of winning the Uganda Premier League."
With a third-place finish in the previous UPL campaign, Bogere and his team have their work cut out for them as they strive to claim their first league title
