The 2025 Buganda Masaza Cup saw a major upset on Sunday, August 24, as Busiro Ssaza narrowly defeated defending champions Buddu 1-0 in the Masengere group at Kitovu Sports Arena in Masaka City. The lone goal was scored by Bruhan Tusaba in the 8th minute, and Busiro’s goalkeeper Hamza Lutaaya was named Man of the Match for his stellar performance.
In the same group, Busujjuand Buluuli played to a goalless draw, with Fred Muhanguzi** of Buluuli earning the Man of the Match accolade.

Kyaggwe Ssaza secured a 1-0 victory over 10-man Mawogola at Bishops SS Mukono playground. Marvin Busuulwa converted a penalty for the winning goal, while David Mugalu was named Man of the Match. Mawogola’s **Hassan Wasswa received a red card in the 80th minute.
However, the match between Ssingo and Butambala ended prematurely when Butambala walked off the field in protest of a controversial Ssingo goal in the 63rd minute. **Daniel Bakaki and **Shaban Kayongo** had scored for Butambala and Ssingo, respectively.
Kyaggwe now leads the group with **18 points**, ahead of second-placed **Kooki** (12 points).
