Calvin Echodu's campaign for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Vice Chairperson position for the Eastern Region is generating considerable excitement in Bunyoro and West Nile. Local leaders have expressed their strong support, emphasizing the need for unity rather than division among communities.

Hoima City Mayor Brian Kaboyo urged delegates to prioritize candidates who foster harmony over those who promote tribal or economic divisions. “We need leaders who walk the talk, not those who fuel division,” Kaboyo stated, reinforcing the call for collaborative leadership.

Echoing this sentiment, Kibaale's Resident District Commissioner, Stephen Byaruhanga Mfashingabo, encouraged delegates to back leaders who would advance governmental initiatives and national progress. “Greater Kibaale has consistently supported the NRM with over 98% since 1996. Let us give President Museveni and dedicated NRM leaders a 100% mandate,” Byaruhanga asserted.

The initial momentum for Echodu's campaign was particularly evident during a recent event with NRM delegates from Hoima District and surrounding areas. Echodu appealed to the delegates to favor service delivery over empty rhetoric. “I kindly ask you to shun divisive politics and lies, and instead embrace politics of service delivery,” he urged. “We are tired of leaders who talk too much but deliver very little.”

As Echodu's campaign continued to gain traction, he ventured into the Greater Nebbi region, engaging with enthusiastic NRM delegates from Pakwach, Zombo, and Nebbi Districts. The energy during these meetings was described as electric, with Echodu remarking, “I loved your Energy! Your passion for NRM and commitment to steady progress is what Team NewEnergy is all about.”

In Arua City, Echodu's interactions with delegates from Arua, Terego, and Madi Okollo Districts further amplified the momentum of his campaign. The delegates, energized by Echodu's message of unity and progress, expressed their readiness to join the movement. “Together, let's move forward with purpose, unity, and unstoppable momentum,” he encouraged.

During a productive session with NRMOnline delegates from Moyo, Obongi, and Adjumani Districts, Echodu focused on strategies to strengthen the party's grassroots structures. He expressed gratitude for the warm welcome, stating, “The #NewEnergy momentum is unstoppable.” His commitment to not only securing votes but also enhancing the party's effectiveness resonates throughout his campaign.

As Echodu continues to spread his vision across the regions, the support he garners may very well shape the future of the NRM and its leadership.
