KCCA FC has officially re-signed goalkeeper Charles Lukwago, marking his return to the club after a four-year break. The announcement, shared on the club’s website, revealed that the 2025 transfer window had concluded with Lukwago’s long-awaited comeback.
“KCCA is delighted to welcome back a legend and former captain,” stated the club’s statement. Lukwago, who initially joined KCCA in 2016 under coach Mike Mutebi, left in 2021 and later played for South African side Venda FC. His return is sealed by a two-year contract extension, keeping him at the club through 2027.
During his first stint, Lukwago was instrumental in securing two Uganda Premier League titles (2017, 2019) and two Uganda Cup victories (2017, 2018). His leadership and performances earned him reverence at the club, and his return aims to reignite the team’s campaign for domestic honors.
The goalkeeper’s comeback comes as KCCA aims to strengthen its roster ahead of the 2025 season, with fans excited to see the experienced shot-stopper back in action.
