Everton Secures Manchester United's Nick Cox as New Technical Director

Everton Football Club has officially announced the appointment of Nick Cox as their new Technical Director, marking a significant move in their ongoing structural overhaul. Cox, who spent nearly a decade at Manchester United, will now join Everton's leadership team as part of their ambitious plans for long-term success.

Cox joined Manchester United in 2016 and was promoted to Academy Director in 2019. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in overseeing the first-team debuts of 35 players, cementing United's reputation as a global leader in youth development. His departure from Old Trafford ends a nine-year association with the club, where he was widely respected for his contributions to their academy system.

At Everton, Cox will lead operations at Finch Farm, overseeing the Medical, Academy, Player Care, and Operational departments. He will also support first-team managers David Moyes and Brian Sorensen as part of a four-man leadership team that includes James Smith (Scouting and Recruitment), Chris Howarth (Strategy and Analytics), and Nick Hammond (Player Trading).

Speaking about his time at Manchester United, Cox expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the club's youth-first culture. "Youth development is an important part of the lifeblood of this club," he said. "It's been an immense privilege to support this generation of young people and staff."

Manchester United's Director of Football, Jason Wilcox, also praised Cox's impact, calling him a "huge contributor" to the club's success in nurturing young talent. Cox will remain at United for the coming months to assist in the transition process, with a succession plan already in place.
