Everton Secures Southampton Winger Tyler Dibling for £42m

Everton Football Club have completed the transfer of highly-rated 19-year-old winger Tyler Dibling from Southampton, with the deal valued at approximately £42 million. This signing, which includes potential add-ons worth £6 million, adds a dynamic attacking option for the Toffees as they bolster their squad for the new season.

According to reports, Southampton have included a 20 per cent sell-on clause within the agreement. Dibling, an academy graduate of the Saints, made 33 appearances in the Premier League last season and managed to score two goals during his time with the club. The teenager expressed his eagerness to return to the top flight in an Everton statement.

Dibling has penned a four-year contract with the club. The signing sees Everton's summer expenditure increase substantially, bringing the total spending for the transfer window to £124 million.

"Everton have completed the signing of teenager Tyler Dibling from Southampton in a deal worth £42m."

The versatile winger becomes manager David Moyes's eighth permanent summer acquisition, joining previous signings like Thierno Barry, Jack Grealish, Adam Aznou, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Moyes expressed his delight at landing Dibling, praising the player's potential and English nationality.

"We are really pleased to bring Tyler to Everton Football Club. He is a talented young English player with lots of potential. Tyler adds to our attacking options and we will support him in his future development."

Dibling, who already counts a Premier League appearance for Southampton as his debut at 17, elaborated on his reasons for joining the Goodison Park club.

"I've never been so excited to play football and I'm just ready to get going. I think it's the perfect match because of where the club is right now. Obviously with the new stadium, the fans here are unreal and it has a family feel to it. I think it was the perfect fit and was a no-brainer to join."

Describing his experience at Goodison, Dibling added: "There was no better feeling than when you're doing well in football and to feel that love from the fans is one of the best feelings ever."

Looking ahead, Dibling aims to integrate quickly into the Everton squad.

"My aim for this season is just to play as many games as I can and to help the team as much as I can with goals and assists."

Moyes highlighted Dibling's specific attributes, stating: "I think the manager is perfect for me. Obviously he's helped so many players before who were in my position... I hope I can be here for many years."

The acquisition underscores Everton's ambitious spending strategy this summer, with the potential £48 million deal making Dibling one of the most expensive players in the club's academy history.
