Tottenham Hotspur has confirmed the return of Fabio Paratici to his position as joint-sporting director, marking his comeback after a 30-month FIFA suspension. The 53-year-old, who previously held roles at Italian clubs Sampdoria and Juventus, will now collaborate with Johan Lange to oversee the club’s men’s football strategy, including recruitment, scouting, and performance development.

Paratici stepped down from his role in April 2023 following the rejection of his appeal against the ban, which stemmed from financial irregularities linked to his tenure at Juventus. The Italian club was penalized with a 10-point deduction in Serie A for false accounting, a scandal that also involved former executives. Last month, a Roman court accepted a plea bargain agreement, allowing Paratici to avoid a 18-month prison sentence, though such deals in Italy do not require admission of guilt or liability.

“I’m thrilled to rejoin a club I deeply care about,” Paratici stated. “Over the past months, I’ve worked closely with Johan, Vinai, and Thomas Frank as a consultant, and I’m eager to return to London and contribute full-time. I believe, together with Johan, we can create a bright future for Tottenham and its supporters.”

The club is currently finalizing its leadership structure by appointing a director of football operations to work alongside Paratici and Lange. In the interim, the women’s team will continue to be managed directly by Venkatesham. Paratici’s return comes amid ongoing efforts to strengthen Spurs’ football operations and address past controversies.
