Former Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey, has been accused of raping two women at his £6 million mansion and a five-star hotel in Spain, as well as sexually assaulting another woman. The Ghanaian international, aged 32, appeared in court at Westminster Magistrates' Court for a preliminary hearing.

Partey is facing charges of three counts of rape against one of the alleged victims and two counts against another woman. Additionally, he is accused of one count of sexual assault involving the third complainant. The incidents are reported to have taken place between 2021 and 2022.

The court heard that Partey allegedly raped one of the women on three separate occasions at his residence in Hertfordshire and also assaulted her at a resort in Spain. Moreover, he is accused of sexually assaulting another woman by lying on top of her, attempting to kiss her, and groping her without her consent.

During the court appearance, Partey only confirmed his personal details. He was granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on September 2. Partey's bail conditions include refraining from contacting any of the three complainants, notifying the police of any change of address in advance, providing details of his stay if it exceeds 14 days, and informing authorities of any international travel plans.

Despite no longer being employed in the UK since his contract with Arsenal ended on June 30, Partey has reportedly attracted interest from Villarreal in Spain, with whom he is rumored to be negotiating a two-year deal. His defense lawyer has stated that Partey denies all charges and has cooperated with authorities throughout their investigation.

The investigation into Partey's alleged offenses commenced in February 2022 following a rape report. The Crown Prosecution Service proceeded with the charges after a thorough review of the evidence. Partey, who represented Ghana at the 2022 World Cup, had been with Arsenal for five years after joining from Atletico Madrid in 2020, where he had a successful stint winning the Europa League.
