A former Pentagon official from the Trump administration has raised concerns over a leaked intelligence report regarding the damage inflicted on Iran's nuclear program. Speaking to BBC Radio 4's Today program, Mick Mulroy emphasized the dangers of such leaks, stating that they could jeopardize human intelligence sources. "They can get killed if they are compromised," he warned.
Mulroy also questioned the accuracy of previous assessments that claimed U.S. strikes had significantly set back Iran's nuclear capabilities by several years. "They obviously had something wrong before, or they have something wrong now—it can't be both," he said. He highlighted the discrepancy between the White House's claim that Iran's facilities were "obliterated" and the leaked report's more cautious tone.
When asked if the U.S. would continue military action against Iran, Mulroy reiterated the importance of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. "Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon," he said. "There could be additional strikes to ensure that they never get to a place where they have nuclear weapons."
The leaked report has sparked debate over the effectiveness of U.S. strategic actions and the potential consequences of intelligence leaks on national security.
