Two-time PDC World Darts Championship winner Gary Anderson narrowly avoided an early exit at Alexandra Palace on Saturday, edging past Adam Hunt 3-2 in a thrilling first-round clash.

Veteran Battles Through Tough Test

The 54-year-old Scotsman, seeded 14th, found himself trailing 2-1 against world number 84 Hunt before mounting an impressive comeback. Anderson ultimately sealed victory by claiming the final two sets, booking a second-round meeting with either Connor Scutt or Simon Whitlock.

"That's probably the best Adam has played all season," Anderson told Sky Sports afterward. "The first game is always the hardest, but I'm through."
