Ivory Coast to fine-tune in Spain ahead of AFCON 2025
The current Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) holders, Ivory Coast, have disclosed their plans to prepare for the upcoming tournament with a training camp in Marbella, Spain. Yacine Idriss Diallo, the President of the Federation of Ivory Coast Football (FIF), made the announcement during the General Assembly held on Saturday.
The Elephants, as the national team is known, will spend ten days in Marbella beginning on December 10th. During this period, they are scheduled to play two friendly matches.
As part of their preparations, Ivory Coast is expected to play against DR Congo and another opponent before departing for Morocco on December 20th, just a day before the tournament's commencement. Ivory Coast is drawn in Group F alongside Mozambique, Cameroon, and Gabon.
The three-time champions will kick off their group stage campaign against Mozambique on December 24th. They will then face five-time champions Cameroon on December 28th, followed by a final group match against Gabon on December 31st.
