Jack Wilshere Poised to Lead Luton Town Following Bloomfield Dismissal

Luton Town Football Club has identified former England international Jack Wilshere as its first-choice candidate for the managerial position following the recent sacking of Matt Bloomfield. The 33-year-old midfielder, who previously served as Norwich City's interim coach, is reported to be very close to securing the job at Kenilworth Road.

Wilshere, whose playing career saw him win two FA Cups with Arsenal, had discussions with the club's board and is considered the frontrunner for the role. While a formal agreement is still pending, his experience and background have impressed the Luton hierarchy. His most recent managerial role was as an interim coach for Norwich during the final games of the previous season, after which he was not appointed to the permanent position.

Luton Town, currently struggling in League One after two relegations and suffering a poor start to the 2025-26 campaign with five defeats in 11 games, has now turned to Wilshere, who also has a background as an Arsenal academy coach.
