Harry Maguire Receives Suspended Sentence After Mykonos Incident
Manchester United and England defender, Harry Maguire, has been given a 15-month suspended sentence by a Greek court for an incident that occurred in Mykonos in August 2020.
Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee intends to stay at Old Trafford despite Serie A side Roma's loan approach, as the club faces upcoming squad challenges.
Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee has expressed his determination to remain at Old Trafford despite growing interest from Italian club Roma, according to Sky Sports News.
The 22-year-old forward, who has recently earned more minutes under manager Ruben Amorim, prefers to fight for his place rather than pursue a January move. Roma had reportedly explored a loan deal with an option-to-buy clause, but United currently show no intention of offloading the Dutch attacker.
"Zirkzee wants to stay and prove himself at United," a club source confirmed. "He's shown flashes of quality and understands the competition for places."
United's forward line faces significant disruptions in January:
Zirkzee has started three of United's last four Premier League matches, including the December 14 clash against West Ham. His crucial equalizer in November's 2-1 win at Crystal Palace demonstrated his potential, earning praise from Amorim.
The former Bayern Munich prospect remains under contract until 2029, with an option for an additional year. While his overall record of eight goals in 18 months appears modest, analysts suggest his retention could prove vital during the upcoming squad shortages.
"United simply can't afford to lose attacking depth right now," noted Sky Sports' Laura Hunter. "Zirkzee's physicality and big-game temperament still offer something different in crucial moments."
As the January transfer window approaches, all indications suggest Zirkzee will continue his development at Old Trafford rather than seek opportunities elsewhere.
