A wheelchair user and long-time Liverpool supporter, Mark Mogan, has been identified by police as the individual allegedly involved in a racism incident during the club’s Premier League clash with AFC Bournemouth. The 47-year-old, who holds a season ticket and resides in social housing with his mother, was escorted from Anfield at halftime after stewards and eyewitnesses flagged him for an exchange with Semenyo in the 29th minute.

According to TV footage, Mogan approached the Bournemouth player near the touchline while he was preparing for a throw-in. The fan reportedly turned and left the area abruptly after the interaction, prompting an investigation by Merseyside Police. The club confirmed the arrest on Saturday, stating it condemns all forms of racism and discrimination, adding that such behavior has "no place in society or football."

Authorities have placed Mogan on bail for three months, pending further inquiries, with strict conditions prohibiting him from attending any football matches. Should he be found guilty, Liverpool could impose a lifetime ban, as outlined in a club statement. Mogan, who has relied on a wheelchair since birth due to a medical condition, has not yet commented on the allegations.

The incident has sparked renewed discussions about fan conduct at major stadiums, with Liverpool emphasizing its commitment to fostering an inclusive environment. The club’s management has urged patience as the case develops, while the football community awaits the outcome of the investigation.
