Manchester City has announced a landmark 10-year extension of their kit partnership with Puma, valued at a staggering £1 billion. This deal, which runs until at least 2035, marks the most lucrative agreement in Premier League history, with the club set to receive £100 million annually.
The new contract surpasses Manchester United's £90 million annual deal with Adidas, signed in 2023, and Liverpool's reported £60 million per season agreement with the same manufacturer. The extension underscores Manchester City's growing commercial influence in global football.
Since their initial £65 million-per-year deal with Puma in 2019, Manchester City has experienced a period of remarkable success on the pitch. The club has secured four Premier League titles and achieved the Treble in 2022, although they ended the most recent season without a major trophy. Globally, the partnership has driven record-breaking sales for both parties.
In their financial accounts up to June 2024, Manchester City reported a Premier League record revenue of £715 million, with commercial revenue rising from £341.4 million to £344.7 million. Ferran Soriano, CEO of City Football Group, highlighted the partnership's achievements, stating, "We joined forces with Puma to challenge ourselves and exceed expectations. Over the past six seasons, we’ve accomplished that and more."
Puma CEO Arthur Hoeld also praised the collaboration, saying, "Our partnership with Manchester City has been a triumph both on and off the field. Trophies, a platform for our performance products, and commercial success have all been exceptional."
This historic deal solidifies Manchester City's position as a global football powerhouse and sets a new benchmark for kit sponsorships in the sport.
