Erling Haaland's Struggles in the Most Challenging Position
Manchester City's striker, Erling Haaland, is facing a tough time on the field, described by his manager as playing in "the most difficult position on the planet."
Manchester United and Arsenal are locked in a transfer battle for Sevilla’s Lucien Agoume, while Everton’s Beto has emerged as a surprising striker target for the Red Devils.
Manchester United and Arsenal are reportedly competing to secure the signature of Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume, who has drawn comparisons to former Chelsea star N’Golo Kante. The 22-year-old Frenchman has become a prime target for the Gunners as they seek a replacement for Thomas Partey, whose contract talks have stalled due to salary demands.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Arsenal view Agoume as an ideal candidate due to his physicality, tactical awareness, and potential for growth. However, the report also suggests that Tottenham and Manchester United have entered the race for the midfielder. United, in particular, are said to be keen on Agoume as they aim to strengthen a midfield that struggled last season despite the £42 million signing of Manuel Ugarte.
With no European football on offer, United are reportedly attempting to lure Agoume with the promise of regular playing time and a solid project. Meanwhile, Arsenal remain the frontrunners for his signature, though no deal has been finalized yet.
In addition to their midfield pursuit, Manchester United are also exploring options to bolster their attack. After a disappointing season for Rasmus Hojlund, who has been linked with a move to Serie A, the Red Devils have reportedly shifted their focus to Everton’s Beto. The 27-year-old striker, who joined Everton from Udinese in 2023 for £21 million, has been described as a physical, hardworking forward who could thrive in the Premier League.
The president of Beto’s first club, Uniao Tires, praised the striker’s attributes, stating, “Beto is a real headache for opponents. He’s strong, fast, and excels in duels. He’s the type of classic striker United have been missing for years.”
As the transfer window heats up, Manchester United’s pursuit of Agoume and Beto could signal a significant overhaul of their squad ahead of the new season.
