Young footballer Elvin Abaho, a graduate of The Lions Sports Academy, is on his way to Spain for trials with SPF in the football-mad city of Valencia. Abaho was chosen as one of the 15 players from the East African trials that included representatives from Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe.

The 15 players are participating in the SPF Valencia trials, which showcases top talents from around the world. This is a significant milestone in the life of any sports personality as they move from one level to another in their career.

Abaho, aged 15, is a versatile midfielder who has been training with The Lions Sports Academy. Before his departure for Spain, Abaho received the support of the academy coaches, CEO Ronald Alonso Nuwasiima, and his mother, ASP Allen Rukandema Kobusingye.

Rukandema, a traffic officer at Lukaya road along the Masaka road, expressed her happiness and pride in her son's achievement, stating that it was a dream come true. To Nuwasiima, Abaho's journey to Spain is a breakthrough moment for the academy.

"I have suffered, sacrificed, and committed a lot to football. When I see a player from my hard work flying to Europe in Spain for football, I see the dream is getting closer," Nuwasiima said.

Abaho was first spotted during The Lion Sports Academy's trip to Arusha, Tanzania, for the East African Chipkizi Cup. Despite the Western Uganda-based academy being eliminated at the semifinal stage by an academy from Zimbabwe, Abaho's performance was outstanding, catching the eye of the scouts.

Abaho's selection for the SPF Valencia trials is a significant achievement for The Lions Sports Academy, which is also the home of midfielder Davis "Kaka" Kakaire, who previously featured at UPDF football club and was a key player in the promotion of Buhimba United Saints to the Uganda Premier League.
