In a surprising turn of events, DNA tests have confirmed that four out of nine children claimed to be the offspring of the late Ugandan legislator Muhammad Ssegirinya are indeed biologically his. The other five children, including the youngest, were found not to be related to the deceased.
This startling revelation was made public by Aalex Lusswa Luwemba, Ssegirinya's former assistant, during a media interview. Luwemba expressed his dismay at the situation, stating, "God is great, and the results are out. Their actions were inhumane. Some of these paternity claims seemed to be motivated by interest in Ssegirinya's estate."
Luwemba's comments suggest that some of the paternity claims were made with ulterior motives, as the late legislator passed away without leaving a will, leading to intense inheritance battles.
Legal proceedings are already underway to determine the rightful heirs. Hon. Medad Ssegona, a lawyer, has been entrusted with overseeing the matter to ensure the four confirmed children receive the necessary letters of administration to manage their father's estate.
This development adds a dramatic twist to the ongoing legal and familial wrangles following Ssegirinya's death and may set a precedent in how such matters are handled when a prominent figure passes without a will.
