KCCA co-coach Brian Ssenyondo has voiced his dissatisfaction with his team's performance after a 2-0 defeat to arch-rivals SC Villa in the FUFA Super 8's round one derby match. The loss occurred amid a challenging encounter that saw Villa dominate key aspects of the game.

Addressing the media in a post-match press conference, Ssenyondo conceded that SC Villa was the better team throughout the contest. "SC Villa were consistently better," Ssenyondo stated. "They excelled in counter-pressing, which made it nearly impossible for us to maintain possession or execute long sequences of passes."

The coach further elaborated on the tactical struggles faced by his side. "They consistently disrupted our rhythm, and while we tried to counter their pressure, they were more effective in doing so. That's where we lost the match today," he added.

Despite the disappointment, Ssenyondo remains optimistic about the team's prospects ahead of the return leg. "We have a week to analyze the game and correct our mistakes," he said. "I believe we can overturn this result in the second leg. It's tough to accept losing when we didn't play to our usual standards."

The second leg of the derby will take place at Omondi Stadium on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Ssenyondo emphasized the importance of regaining the team's characteristic flair and effectiveness in their upcoming match.
