In a press briefing held at the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Headquarters in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania National Football Team Coach Hemed Suleiman has revealed a provisional squad of 27 players for the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024. The squad features a mix of talented footballers from the nation's prominent clubs, Simba and Young Africans.

Among the notable players from Simba include seasoned goalkeeper Aishi Manula, Shomari Kapombe, Mohammed Hussein, Abdoulrazack Mohamed, Yusuph Kagoma, and Denis Kibu. Young Africans contribute a contingent of Ibraham Hamad, Yahya Mudathir, and Clement Mzize to the squad.

Coach Suleiman has also included players from the National U20 team (Ngorongoro), such as Vedastus Masinde, Ahmed Pipino, Jammy Simba, Sheikhan Khamis, and Mishano Michael, in the squad.

It is worth mentioning that Tanzania will co-host the tournament alongside Uganda and Kenya. The Taifa Stars have been placed in Group B alongside Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, and the Central African Republic. The Championship is scheduled to take place from 2nd to 8th August 2025
