The second edition of the Uganda Secondary School Sports Association (USSSA) Ball Games 2 kicked off in Tororo on Sunday, 13th July, with Lacrosse matches taking center stage. The games continued on Monday, with several matches held at the Tororo Parents School playground.

Lacrosse Action - Girls:
The giants of the girls' Lacrosse category, Nabisunsa Girls School and Bombo Army Secondary School, have impressed so far. Nabisunsa Girls School defeated Kigezi High School 16-0 and Mt. St. Mary's College Namagunga 14-04. Bombo Army SS, on the other hand, outplayed Muzza High School 14-03 before overpowering Kigezi High School 12-01. Muzza High School managed a 11-03 win against Kigezi High School in another game.

Lacrosse Action - Boys:
The boys' category saw hosts St. Peter's College Tororo start on a losing note, falling 11-13 to Empower International Academy and 07-10 to Kigezi High School. Bombo Army Secondary School was impressive in their 11-01 victory over Kigezi High School.

Tuesday, 15th July, is a day off for the players to recuperate before resuming the games on Wednesday. Liberty Twesiime, President of the Uganda Lacrosse Association, expressed her satisfaction with the competitive action so far and expressed hope for the future of the sport.

Top Scorers:
In the boys' category, Jonathan Soita of St. Peter's College Tororo leads the pack with 7 goals. Warid Kabuzi of Bombo Army and Owen Twinamsiko are close behind with 6 and 5 goals respectively. In the girls' category, Nabisunsa's Enid Alowo leads with 13 goals, one more than her teammate Ladyshima Mulumba. Sofia Aber of Bombo Army has scored 10 goals so far.

The USSSA Ball Games 2 also feature other sports such as football (U-14 and U-16), Rugby 7's, Basketball (3X3 and U-16 for 5X5), Athletics, Cross Country, Volleyball, Handball, Chess, Netball, Scrabble, DanceSport, Ludo, Beach Soccer, Futsal, woodball, Beach Volleyball, Cricket, Gymnastics, and Baseball & Softball. Cricket, Gymnastics, and Baseball & Softball are demonstration games.

The USSSA Ball Games 2 serve as a precursor for the FEASSA Games due in Kakamega, Kenya next month.
